Research profile
Lalaine Siruno has a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (magna cum laude) from the University of the Philippines - Diliman (UPD), and a Master’s degree in Applied Ethics from Linköping University and Utrecht University.
Before leaving the Philippines to do her PhD, she was a faculty member at the Department of Philosophy in UPD. Her main teaching and research areas are ethics, socio-political philosophy and applied ethics.
Her PhD project argues for the primacy of needs over capabilities and aims to formulate a clear-cut framework by which to identify, assess and prioritize genuine need-claims.
