Peterson, M. (Martin)

Research profile

Martin Peterson (1975) works at Eindhoven University of Technology, mainly on ethical issues related to technology. Before coming to the Netherlands, he worked for three years at the University of Cambridge, where he was a Research Fellow in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science and Director of Studies in Philosophy at St Edmund’s College. He has also worked at a couple of technical universities in Sweden (KTH and Lulea University of Technology).

Peterson mainly works on ethical issues related to risk and uncertainty, but he has also done some work on consequentialism and decision theory. In May 2009, An Introduction to Decision Theory will be published by Cambridge University Press. In 2008 Peterson’s research monograph Non-Bayesian Decision Theory was published by Springer.
