Research profile
Background
From 1994 till 1998 she studied Science & Policy (BSc + MSc) at the Utrecht University. After finishing her first study she has worked fulltime for 7.5 years at the Utrecht University, mainly in the field of bio-ethics and ethics of technology. Meanwhile (between 1999 till 2004), she graduated for her bachelor and master degree in philosophy at the same University.
Since August 2005, she is lecturer and researcher at the University of Twente and coordinator of the Centre for the Philosophy of Technology and Engineering Science (CEPTES, www.ceptes.nl).
Research
In the seven years she worked at the Utrecht University Katinka Waelbers focused mainly on bio-ethics. After graduating for her Master degree in philosophy in July 2004, she decided to focus on the philosophy of technology. Next to her teaching and her coordinative tasks for CEPTES, Katinka Waelbers now is working on her PhD thesis on technology, agency and moral responsibility.
