Nihlen Fahlquist, J.A. (Jessica)
Research profile
Jessica received her PhD in Philosophy at the Division of Philosophy at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2008. She conducts research into different notions of moral responsibility and is especially interested in responsibility as a virtue. Her current postdoc project, “Conceptual and moral analysis of responsibility”, is one part of the project called “Moral responsibility in R&D networks”, which is funded by NWO and led by Ibo van de Poel. This project studies the so called “problem of many hands” in R&D networks. From January 2012 Jessica will be the postdoc researcher in Sabine Roeser’s VIDI-project called “Moral emotions and risk politics”.

Teaching
Jessica has been responsible for a course in the Philosophy of Risk in 2009 and 2010. She developed and was responsible for a course in Political Philosophy at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm 2004-2006. She has also been involved in courses in ethics and technology and the philosophy of science. Jessica currently assists in the supervision of PhD student Neelke Doorn.
