Ethics & technology – Will it change moral philosophy?
Computer ethics, nanoethics, neuroethics … it is clear that the ethics of technology is a field of growing importance. But what exactly is the relation between this ‘new’ branch and more ‘traditional’ moral philosophy? Can concepts and theories from the latter easily be used in ethical reflection on technology? Is it just another field of application? Or does the ethics of technology require (radically) new ways of thinking, for example about human agency or the good life?
