Workshop: International Perspectives on Interdisciplinarity in Philosophy of Science & Engineering
International workshop, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm
The Department of Philosophy at University of Twente (one of the partners in 3TU.Ethics) is proud to invite you to our international workshop on May 23 2008. The aim of the workshop is to explore methods for performing interdisciplinary research and for exchanging experiences. The workshop will take place at Hotel Drienerburght on University of Twente campus and will feature speakers from University of North Texas, Colorado School of Mines, Twente University and the Rathenau Institute.
Speakers
- Professor Carl Mitcham (Colorado School of Mines, director of the Hennebach Program in the Humanities) and Professor Robert Frodeman (chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of North Texas) will present their upcoming handbook on interdisciplinary research
- Dr. Q.C. Rinie van Est (the Rathenau Institute): Interdisciplinary research in the political context (to be confirmed)
- Professor Irene Klaver (University of North Texas): Approaching water issues at the interface of cultural, social-political, philosophical and scientific analysis
- Dr. Mieke Boon (University of Twente): Philosophy of engineering science within the practice of nanotechnology
- Dr. Barend van der Meulen (University of Twente): Evaluating innovation programs for learning and accountability using multiple perspectives
