Inventory ‘resonsible innovation’
On request of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) 3TU.Ethics has compiled an international inventory of research activities and knowledge dissemination pathways in the area of ‘responsible innovation’. NWO has launched a grant program for multidisciplinary research in on responsible innovation in 2008. Prof. Jeroen van den Hoven, scientific director of 3TU.Ethics, is one of the driving forces behind this program and chair of the program committee. Authors of the inventory report now published are Richard Heersmink and Ilse Oosterlaken. It can be downloaded here.

Dr Tsjalling Swierstra appointed as Professor at UvA
Dr Tsjalling Swierstra (1960), Senior Researcher of 3TU.Ethics based in Twente University, has been appointed as Professor of Philosophy and Ethics in the Lifesciences by the Faculty of Science at the University of Amsterdam (UvA).

Dr Roeser, Managing Director of 3TU.Ethics, joins the Genetic Modification Commission
Sabine Roeser, Managing Director of 3TU.Ethics and Assistant Professor of the section of Philosophy of Delft University, was invited to join the COGEM Commissie, formed by a group of experts that “provides scientific advice to the government on the risks to human health and the environment of the production and use of GMO’s and informs the government of ethical and societal issues linked to genetic modification” (see here).
