Van den Hoven wins IFIP award for “outstanding contribution” to social implications of ICT
Jeroen van den Hoven, scientific director of 3TU.Ethics and full professor at the Philosophy Department of TU Delft, has been awarded the IFIP-WG9.2 Namur Award 2010. The Namur Award is made for “an outstanding contribution to the awareness of social implications of information and communication technology”. It was created to draw attention to the need for an holistic approach in the use of information technology in which the social implications have been taken into account. Van den Hoven will receive the award during an event that will be held in January 2010 in Namur, Belgium. He will give a public lecture on the occasion.
